JZ/BZ Plastic Queen Cell Cup
Description
This JZ/BZ Plastic Queen Cell Cup represents the industry standard for artificial queen production through larval grafting. Its precise design allows a secure press-fit into the grooves of cell bars or grafting frames, making installation and handling easy throughout the entire process.
It is used by placing a young larva, less than 24 hours old, inside the cup, which is then inserted into a cell-bar frame within a starter or finisher colony. Nurse bees recognize the cup as a developing queen cell and feed it royal jelly, initiating the formation of a new queen. The yellow color is part of a color-coding system (along with red, blue, green, and amber) used to organize grafting batches by date or genetics.
Features:
- JZ/BZ industry-standard design
- Press-fit into standard grooved bars and frames
- Non-toxic, lightweight plastic
- Color-coding for organizing grafting batches
- Reusable and easy to clean
- Compatible with most queen rearing boxes and kits
